Ministries

Bethel has many ministries. Each of them are described below.

Nursery

Sundays and Wednesday nights a nursery is provided for children 3 years and younger in age. The nursery is located on the north side of the church. Upon walking into the east-most entrance to the building, turn left and it is at the other end of the fellowship area to the right of the kitchen.

Sunday School

Every Sunday morning starting at 9am, the church provides a Christian-based educational environment for members and guests. The classes are based upon age and take place in the rooms surrounding the auditorium. Signs are posted at the doors of each classroom denoting what age range the class is. Generally speaking, high school and lower ages take place in the class rooms at the back of the church, while the adult classes take place in the sectioned-off rooms in front of the auditorium.

Children's Church

Children's Church is a service designed especially for children between the age of 4 and third grade. Some time during the early part of the morning service, children are dismissed. Children's Church takes place in the classrooms behind the auditorium.

Children's Choir

All children between the ages of 4 years and 6th grade are welcome to be a part of our children's choir (Melody Makers). Practice takes place during the first 15-20 minutes of Children's church after which the 4th grade through 6th grade students are dismissed back to the regular morning service.

Services

After Sunday School, the morning service takes place at 10am. Services typically begin with singing, quoting the verse of the month, announcements, and offering. Guests are encouraged to fill out the guest card located in the hymnal rack and drop it in the offering plate. This is merely as a record of attendance.
Following the first service there is a short time of refreshment and fellowship with fellow believers.
The second service begins at 11:30 am and is much the same as the morning service. All members and guests are encouraged to stay for our second service.

Music

Bethel has an adult choir that ministers once a month and at the Christmas and Easter seasons. Some of the holiday presentations are accompanied by a play or a readers' theater. Nearly all productions at Bethel are centered around music. We consider music to be one of the strongest mediums of expressing our praise and adoration of God. To become a member of the choir, a person must first become a member of the church.

Youth

Bethel maintains a youth group for those going into 6th grade all the way up to high school seniors. The youth enjoys it's monthly Sunday Night After Church where they climb into the church van and go to a church member's home to have their own time of food, fun and fellowship. The youth also participates heavily in the camp season at IRBC, either as workers or attenders. Every 2 to 4 years, the youth goes on a mission trip or a wilderness trip around the U.S. Some of the more prominent trips of the past were to Colorado, Utah, and Idaho.

Other Ministries

Bethel actively endorses the Iowa Regular Baptist Camp located on the banks of Clear Lake in Ventura, Iowa. Throughout the summer season (the busiest season), many of our members (both old and young) spend a week or more up there, enjoying the relaxing Christian-based atmosphere. IRBC holds family and youth camps during the summer and throughout the remainder of the year IRBC hosts various youth events.
